Re: AP WaPo Independent bookstores embrace digital publishing with ‘espresso’ book machine

Washington Post talks about print on demand at independent bookstores of independent authors.

My comment there:

This is an interesting option.  I would like to support independent bookstores.   I have an e-book out on Pre-Algebra based on the Peano Axioms, which are the basic axioms of natural numbers.

In my self published book, I release a new definition of addition of natural numbers in the Peano Axiom framework, as well as explaining the old definition of addition of natural numbers.  This is the first Peano Axiom book below college level.

The two definitions of addition, old and new are explained at the link below.

Self-publishing is going to take over because it is too much trouble to deal with publishers.

Hermann Grassmann released the first definition of natural number addition using recursion and definition by induction in 1861 in a book published by his brother.  His brother also collaborated with him.  So the old definition of addition is self-published even from 1861.   The new definition of addition is self-published in 2012.

Espresso book machine at Youtube

You use a pdf to print the book.

One of these machines in India, China, Russia or Africa, and your book is pirated.

Piracy will be the big problem with these machines.
