Measure results not hours at NYT

Excellent set of suggestions.  Note how individualized it is for knowledge workers.   What about for students?  There we go standardized.  Since they are to learn the same thing, this makes sense at a first pass.  Since what they know or are interested in may vary, there are potential problems.

The NYT article stresses flexibility for the person.  They stress metrics more related to results.
